Baby Quilt for Ella

Last week, I shared a basket I finished for little baby Ella who is scheduled to make her appearance in early October. Well this week, I completed the quilt that goes with it.

The pattern is from Shannon Fraser, her Modern Aztec Quilt pattern. I made the baby size, but the pattern is available in 7 different sizes.

I used the same pink fabrics as for the basket - some Tamara Kate for Michael Miller and Alison Glass. I also added some Kona solids in grey and white.

For the quilting, I used my walking foot once again and stitched some wavy lines with Aurifil 50 wt thread in a medium pink (#2479).

The details:
  • Pattern: Modern Aztec Quilt by Shannon Fraser
  • Size: 36" square
  • Fabrics: Tamara Kate Joy, Alison Glass and Kona solids
  • Thread: Pieced with Aurifil #2600 in 50 wt and quilted with Aurifil #2479 in 50 wt

  1. She's gorgeous, Izzy! I love how striking the fabric combo is. And that pink stitching is so fun!
