Plus Quilt

I'm a big fan of "plus" quilts.  I've done two baby quilts with plus blocks (here and here), and I wanted plus quilts for the bunk beds at the island.  I started searching for the perfect pattern about a year ago and found this on Pinterest.  Many of the commenters asked if there was a pattern for this quilt, but I didn't see one and unfortunately, clicking on the patterns tab on that blog led to an Error 404.

So I took out my graph paper book and attempted to replicate it as best I could.  I went with 3" squares in blues, greens and greys.  The finished size is about 80" x 70".

Can you see the booboo I made?

The backing is a blue Connecting Threads print.  I didn't have quite enough of it so I added a print I've had in my stash forever.  And the binding is a scrappy bunch of leftover strips from other quilts in the same colours as the top.

I went with a soft meander in a light grey thread for the quilting.

How cute are these little ducklings?!
I took these pictures after washing the quilt.  I just love the nice crinkly look.

I already started working on the other quilt which will go on the second bed and with any luck, both beds will go on a boat ride in early May.

This is project number 3 on my FAL list for Q1.  I will also link up at Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish It Up Friday and at Anja Quilts for TGIFF.
