A Pink Postage Plus Quilt Finish

My husband owns an old classic car - a 1968 Dodge Coronet which he just loves. He is constantly tinkering with it, fixing this and that and to help him, he's good friends with a mechanic. This friend has spent a lot of time on the car and during one of his visits, hubby discovered that his wife is a crafter and a huge fan of the colour pink. So to thank them, he asked me to make her a quilt.

I was already planning to revisit the Postage Plus quilt pattern from the book Modern Plus Sign Quilts by Cheryl Brickey and Paige Alexander so I agreed to make one with pink scraps. (You can see my first Postage Plus quilt here.)

This is such a fun quilt to make - just grab some scraps in the same colour and cut 2.5" squares. And then sew them together with two different solids. I chose Kona Ash and Kona Charcoal for this version. And I love it!

I quilted it with my walking foot and Aurifil #2415 (pink) - look at that texture! It looks and feels lovely. I'm almost sad I have to part with this one.

The backing and binding is a red and pink print from Connecting Threads. It's one of their wide-backs which are really convenient and I really like using those on my quilts.

  • Size: 54.5" x 72.5"
  • Fabrics: Pink scraps, Kona Ash and Kona Charcoal
