So here we go...
Number 1 - The Harry Potter Quilt
I made this quilt with my son Max - and it was such an amazing collaboration! He would come one or two evenings every week and we would cut, press and sew together for a couple of hours. This make is number 1 on the list because of how much fun I had creating it with my boy.
Number 2 - The HST Quilt
This make is number 2 for a couple of reasons: I made it with leftover layer cake squares and didn't purchase a thread of fabric for this one AND the design is the result of an evening spent with my kids arranging and re-arranging the HSTs on my design wall.
Number 3 - The City Sampler
This quilt started in August 2016 during the #100days100blocks quilt along organized by Angie at Gnome Angel. I completed the top in November 2016 but only got it quilted a year later! I love this quilt so much!
Number 4 - Carolina Lily
This little quilt made it to my Top 5 because of the process to make it. This was a challenge where we needed to make a quilt based on the theme "Carolina Lily". I found a photo on the Internet and then used small HSTs to create a pixelated lily. I also love the quilting on this one.
Number 5 - Nautical Quilt for Baby James
Rounding up my Top 5 is the nautical quilt I made for grand-baby #2 - little James. I love the colours, the quilting and the little sailboat, anchor and fish on the left.
It was so much to look through my blog posts from 2017 and come up with my top 5. And now that I've taken this little trip down memory lane, it's time to look forward and make plans for 2018!
Great top 5, I love all of the quilts! It is awesome that your children were involved in the quilting progress. Happy New Year and thanks for linking up!
