2017 FAL Q4 List

I know I missed the deadline for the Q4 list link-up but thought I'd put it here anyway and tell you about how terrible my Q3 completions went.

I had 5 projects on my Q3 list and finished... none of them! I did have a few small finishes, but nothing from the list. So Q4's list is going to have a few repeats from the last quarter.

1. City Sampler

This top has been pieced for almost a year now and during last quarter, I finally basted her.  I am determined to have her done before the end of the year. I've given up on some fancy quilting - I'll probably just do an all over design. A finished quilt is better than a perfect quilt top - right?

2. Holiday Placemats

A few weeks ago, I decided to play with my Hex N More ruler and two holiday charm packs and created four placemats for the holidays. The tops are all done, they just need a good pressing, basting and quilting.

3. Green Log Cabins

This one green log cabin block has been languishing in my sewing room for more than a year.  And I really, really want to make more and turn them all into a cool green log cabin quilt!

4. Harry Potter Quilt

This is the quilt my son and I designed and pieced together.  We've added borders during this last quarter, but this has moved very slowly because Max worked a lot over the Summer and now that school has started again, he's less available.  What I think I might do is just piece the back, baste it, quilt and bind it by myself so he can give it to the person he made it for.

5. Ocean Path

This is a quilt I started in early August and I had it basted by the end of that month, before my trip to Denver, but couldn't get to the quilting until this last week.  I posted the picture above yesterday, when I was about halfway done with the quilting.  Finishing this one by the end of the year should be no problem at all.

So there it is! Five projects again this quarter, but I'm pretty excited about them all and I'm confident I'll be more successful this time.  :-)

  1. You must have been really busy 3rd quarter not to complete any projects, Izzy. You're normally on fire!! That city sampler is a beast! I can only imagine how long it took you to baste her up, but now onto the fun of quilting her! And I'm super curious to see your Ocean Path quilt finsished - that FMQ is SO good! Good luck!

  4. It's good to be excited about everything on your list! I was that way last quarter and it really helped with motivation!

  5. I had the same results from Q3! Life took a turn 😊 I'm not even going to do a Q4 because the last two months of the year are busiest with non quilting stuff. Your City Sampler is so pretty! Good luck!
