I love that my children keep asking me to make stuff for them! They each have a quilt which they sleep under every night and the girls all have makeup pouches. When it was time to prepare everyone for back to school, both girls asked that I make them pencil cases.
And, of course, I was happy to oblige!
First, Marianne who requested something pink. I used some Kate Spain fat 1/8s for the exterior and the lining of the pouch as well as a really beautiful purple zipper.
For Brittany, we had to have purple. I found some Art Gallery Oval Elements fabric in my sewing room for the exterior and a Me & My Sister print for the lining.
And last, but certainly not least, Kat (who isn't a daughter, but she's a very close friend of the family). She didn't have any special requests, so I found another couple of fat 1/8s from Kate Spain and used that for Kat's pouch.

All 3 pouches finish at 10" wide by 7" high. They are perfect for all their pencils, pens, erasers and even their calculator.
All 3 girls are very pleased with their new pencil cases and I liked making these pouches so much, I might have to make a few more for myself!

I love these! You must have a great pattern for the zippers. I love making zip bags but I struggle with the ends of the zippers. I love the clean lines on yours.

Those are great pencil cases! I love the fabric choices! I use a lightweight fusible interfacing in my pouches. What did you use in these, it looks thicker, more sturdy?
ReplyDeleteoh they are so cute and nice and neat :))
