It's a Hat Trick!

Just in time for the NHL playoffs that are scheduled to begin on Monday next week, I finished my first Schnibble of 2013:  Hat Trick.  (If you are wondering why the hockey reference, a hat trick in hockey talk is when a player scores 3 goals in one game.)

This little quilt finishes at approximately 26" x 32" before washing.  This cute Schnibble was designed by the wonderfully talented Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.  I went with Cape Ann by Oliver + s for the charm squares and the green dot is from my stash.

I decided to do some very simple quilting in the ditch and some diagonal straight lines following the seam lines.  In the pieced border, I went with my favourite wavy lines.  The binding was machine stitched to the front and then I stitched in the ditch from the front to catch the binding on the back.

Hat Trick is now ready for the parade over at Sinta's and Sherri's blog.  Be sure to check out all of the cute Schnibbles on May 1.

I'll be linking up for Finish It Up Friday and TGIFF this week...

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

  7. What a pretty little Spring quilt. I really loved the Cape Ann collection when it first came out, but never bought some - wish I had after seeing it in a quilt like this:)

  8. I knew I should have bought some of those Cape Ann charm packs. Grrrrr. Seriously cute Hat Trick. And yes, the timing is perfect because it is the playoff season. (I watched two games tonight - I do love this time of year.)

Great job and congratulations on being quilted and bound!
