My grand-daughter Madison who turns 3 in April moved into a 'big girl bed' a little while ago and of course, I had to make her a new quilt! Madison is a frilly, girly girl who adores princesses and everything pink. So her new quilt had to be pink. The good news is I had lots and lots of pink (and pinkish purple) scraps so this entire quilt was, once again, made from my stash.
The pattern is Flock of Geese by Cheryl Brickey of Meadow Mist Designs. This pattern came with the 2018 Quilter's Planner. In the planner, Cheryl made the quilt with the most beautiful mix of green, blue and yellow fabrics so I might have to make a second one. But I love it in pinks!
I didn't have a piece of fabric large enough for the backing so had to use a couple of fat quarters to piece one together.
And the main backing fabric is this super cute print I found at Fabric.com.
You can see that once again, I went with wavy vertical lines with the walking foot for the quilting. This is such an easy way to get bigger quilts done and it keeps the quilt nice and light and soft.
And I finished it with a bubble gum pink binding from Kona Cotton.
This is only my second finish from my 2019 FAL Q1 list, but I've also basted two more quilts... If I stop needing to work 12 hours a day, I might actually be able to finish another quilt before the end of the quarter!
