Emerald Pillow Finish

I have my first finish of 2019 to share today! I actually finished it last week, but I had to travel to Phoenix, Arizona for work this week so wasn't able to blog about the pillow until now.

I listed this on my Q1 list for the 2019 FAL here. I'm very pleased to have this one done because it had been sitting on my sewing table since November. This is a pattern by Andrea of 3rd Story Workshop and I actually made the whole top during a workshop with Andrea but then never got the opportunity to finish her.

I used Kona cottons for the whole thing with the exception of one Carolyn Friedlander print which I also used to make the envelop backing.

When it came time to quilt it, I knew I wanted straight lines in green, but it took me a while to decide whether I wanted a grid or radiating lines. In the end, I went with radiating lines and I'm super pleased with the results.

I have a pretty good idea who is going to get this pillow, but I won't say just in case this person reads my blog.

The details:
  • Pattern: Teardrop Cut Jewel by Andrea Tsang Jackson from 3rd Story Workshop
  • Size: 18" square
  • Fabrics: Kona cottons and 1 Carolyn Friedlander print (all from stash)
  • Thread: Pieced with Aurifil #2600 (Dove) in 50 wt and quilted with Aurifil #2845 (green) in 40 wt

I will be linking up at Leanne's for TGIFF!
