Table Runner for Max

This little table runner might look familiar if you follow my blog. When I shared the table runner I made for my step-daughter, my son Max immediately called me and asked that I make him one with the same design for his small kitchen table.

He gave me the dimensions of his table and asked for neutral colours such as beige and brown.

I was really happy to discover that I had everything I needed in my stash - which is really surprising because I'm not a big fan of browns.  I used a sandy beige Kona cotton for the background and a reddish brown Kona cotton for the zig zags. The binding is a Michael Miller chevron print (I think!) and I used a Connecting Threads fat quarter for the backing.

For the quilting, I used my walking foot and quilted some dot-to-dot designs in the middle of the zig zags, some straight line echos on the sides of the zig zags and a fun radiating design at both ends.

I was really pleased with this table runner so texted a photo of it to Max as soon as I was done. I'm happy to report that Max loves it!
