As soon as I finished Ava's wall hanging last week, I knew I needed to make one for my little grand-daughter Madison.
I used scraps for this banner as well - all in pinks and purples - and for the background, I used some Kona Charcoal (I think!). I really was hoping for more contrast between the purple star and the background, but it's not so bad.
For the quilting, I used Aurifil 50 wt in Dove (#2600) and quilted some FMQ flowers.
The backing is a Cotton & Steel print from a couple of years ago - I love those cute purses!
My step-daughter, her boyfriend and the two girls are moving this weekend so I might be able to snap a picture of the new banners hanging on the girls' bedroom wall!
Quilt Stats:
Pattern: Letters were from the Spell it with Fabric patterns by Moda Fabrics
Size: 14” x 40”
Fabrics: All scraps
Thread: Pieced and quilted with Aurifil #2600 in 50 wt
Recipient: Madison
I will be linking up at Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish It Up Friday and at Anja Quilts for TGIFF.

I don't think you could have only made just the one, either! I hope the move goes smoothly for them and both girls like their banners. :)
ReplyDeleteYou come up with the greatest things! What a great way to use more scraps. She is going to love it! Good luck with the move.
ReplyDeleteHi Izzy,
ReplyDeleteThis is just adorable, and if I have a great-niece she will have one as well. I am 100% sure Madison will love and enjoy this very much. ~smile~ Roseanne
Another awesome project, Izzy!! I love the colours you chose and can't wait to see them hanging up!! Good luck with the move...hoping the rain holds off for the gang!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I need to start using letters more. I just picked up the new letters/numbers pattern from Jaybird Quilts. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF.
