I finished my friend Heather's baby quilt last night. And without a moment to spare because her baby shower is tomorrow!
I'm pretty sure this is my fastest finish so far in my quilting "career". I started cutting just a little two weeks ago, finished piecing the top Sunday night and put the final stitches on the binding late last night. With my job and other "demands" on my time, it typically takes me about 6 weeks to complete a project.
I absolutely loved putting this little quilt together. The pattern was so much fun. It was designed by Jeni Baker and is in the Sept/Oct 2013 edition of Quilty Magazine.
I used Kona Mint as the background and various fabric for the blocks (Anne Kelle's Urban Zoology, Jenn Ski's Ten Little Things, more Kona solids). For the binding, I used an amazingly cute chevron print called Ziggy Lagoon. I love it! :-)
For the back, I used a print called Creatures and Critters: Nature Bears. How cute are those bears on their bicycles? Seriously?!
I quilted it with a simple all-over meander and now that it's washed and dried, it is wonderfully snuggly.
I cannot wait until tomorrow so I can give this little quilt to my buddy! :-)
So that's baby quilt number 2 all done... Have to start planning baby quilt number 3 now! Do you have a favourite baby quilt pattern? If yes, I would love to know... Tell me in the comments...
I will be sharing this finish over at:
- Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish It Up Friday
- My Quilt Infatuation for Needle and Thread Thursday
- Riddle and Whimsy for TGIFF
Thanks for stopping by!

What an adorable quilt. Love the little bears on bikes, actually there's a lot of adorable fabrics here. You must have sewed like a madwoman to get this done so quick, and you work full time too. My hat is off to you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful finish! The whole quilt is adorable and I am sure will be well loved!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet quilt! You have picked the perfect shade of green for the background - it gives it a lovely old fashioned classic look.
