Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? I had planned to finish Daisy Chain this month for A Lovely Year of Finishes and I finished sewing the binding on it last night. My sweetie was nice enough to get it washed and dryed today so I could take pictures of it when I got home from work.
I used a bunch of different solids for this quilt as well as a cute dragonfly print. For the binding, I used leftover fabric in a gorgeous lime green and for the backing, I purchased a navy blue sheet.
I did some echo quilting around the dragonfly blocks and then some squiggly stitches on an angle to finish it off. Quilting this thing on my small sewing machine was a nightmare (it's a twin size quilt), and I had a bunch of problems with the tension... I just couldn't get it right no matter what I did! But it's done and I'm super happy about it.
It is now nicely folded and waiting for my daughter to come home from China so she can put it on her bed!

Wow Izzy, you are just cranking things out! This is so pretty, and I love the quilting. We need to be proud of ourselves for doing the quilting on our regular home machines, as imperfect as it is.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Izzy! Your daughter will adore it.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you quilted it and the using of solid colors...very nice quilt.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I love the pixel quality. Very modern but still girly enough :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colours you have chosen.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cheerful and fun! I've never seen a wavy line quilted through the corners like that--clever! Lovely finish!
