WIP Wednesday

I love WIP Wednesday!  It keeps me focused, it keeps me motivated, it sends me to the sewing room for an hour or so every night instead of just vegging in front of the television.

Since my last WIP Wednesday post, I finished a baby quilt (you can see pictures and read all about it here) and I made some serious progress on Charming Stars.

I'm done putting all the different parts of the blocks together and now have to choose a layout.
I basically have 3 colours in the charm squares I picked for this quilt:  reds/pinks, blues and greenish.  At this point, I'm not sure if I should put the blocks together by colour or just mix everything.  I think I'll have to play around with a few options before I continue sewing.

I'm definitely outside of my comfort zone with this bright red as the star and sashing colour, but so far, I'm really liking it.  I'm anxious to see how it comes together.

And here are my stats for WIP Wednesday:

Completed:
- Adam's Baby Quilt

In Progress:
- Charming Stars
- Nautical 241 Bag (need to get more interfacting before I can move forward on this one)

Tops that need quilting in the near future:
- Hubble (Christmas present for my SIL)
- Hourglass Patches (Christmas Quilt I started forever ago and that I really want to have done for this Christmas)
- The Big EZ (I really want to have this on my bed in the city)

And of course, I'm linking up at Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week.

  3. I agree with you. WIP Wednesdays keep focused as well. It's like a little voice holds me accountable and prods me along.

I think the red in the Charming Stars looks just fine. Can't wait to see the finished project.

  4. I also really love the red in those stars. Your Hubble top looks great too! I meant to comment on that one but for some reason I forgot. :D
