#babyquilt - One Down, Three to Go!

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I have 4 friends and colleagues who are expecting babies all within just a few months of each other. I see a few baby quilts in my quilty future. I'm not complaining though. Baby quilts are so much fun to make and usually pretty quick projects.

I had been working on the first baby quilt over the last couple of weeks and last night, I finished the quilting and sewed the binding. Yay!

And here it is... #babyquilt!

I pieced it with half of a Apple Jacks jelly roll and Kona Navy for the background. The binding is made with 5 jelly roll strips.

I found a really cute print for the backing: 1001 Peeps by Lizzie House and added the name of the baby with applique.

For the quilting, I went with straight lines with my walking foot and used a blue variegated thread. (Please ignore the fluff all over the quilt - not sure why, but the batting was leaving all kinds of lint during the quilting process.)

The texture is amazing - nice and soft and super cuddly. Perfect for a baby quilt!

So here's one baby quilt done... Only three more to go!

Will be linking up at:

If you're in need of some quilty inspiration, why don't you check these out!

And because this finish was also my ONE goal for this month's ALYOF link-up, I will be linking up there as well! (The button with the link is in my sidebar.)

  2. It looks great! I love the name on the back with the solid strip. It is such a perfect way to increase the backing size without it looking obvious. I'll have to borrow that in the future.
